Launch capsizes in Shitalakkhya after colliding with cargo vessel

Shawdesh desk:

A launch carrying around 30 passengers sank in the River Shitalakkhya as a cargo vessel hit it near Al Aminnagar in Narayanganj on Sunday afternoon.

The Munshiganj-bound launch capsized in the river after collision with cargo vessel MV City-9 around 2:30 pm, according to Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

Three firefighting units are working to rescue the passengers.
